A special space in my heart.

The Oak-Villa Project was a milestone moment for me,  not just creatively, but personally too. This shoot took me interstate, flying from South Australia to Melbourne to capture a home that was warm, layered, and incredibly considered in every detail.

Photographed for Backman Builders in collaboration with Clover Interiors, Oak-Villa was a project that instantly felt special the moment I stepped inside.

A Home Worth Travelling For

Oak-Villa is grounded in warmth. Oak timber flows throughout the home, paired with soft neutrals, natural stone, and gentle curves that create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Every space feels intentional yet effortless, a balance that’s difficult to achieve, and even more rewarding to photograph.

My approach was to let the home lead. I followed the natural light as it filtered through sheer curtains, wrapped around timber grain, and softened each room.' Captured the home as it breathes and lives.

Thoughtful Design, Inside and Out

The open-plan living area, anchored by a statement fireplace, forms the heart of the home, warm, grounded, and designed for connection. The kitchen is equally striking, with its curved island, vertical timber detailing, and restrained palette that feels both modern and timeless.

Bathrooms were flooded with light, showcasing textured stone, curved mirrors, and refined fixtures that elevate everyday rituals. Outside, the pool and surrounding landscaping complete the story. A calm retreat that extends the home beyond its walls.

Each space flowed seamlessly into the next, making Oak-Villa a joy to photograph from start to finish.

A Career-Defining Moment

Oak-Villa marked an exciting chapter in my interior photography journey. Travelling to Melbourne for this shoot pushed me creatively and professionally, and seeing the project later featured in Melbourne Home & Living was a surreal and proud moment.

This project represents everything I love about interior photography, thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and spaces that feel as good as they look. Collaborating with Backman Builders and Clover Interiors on a home of this calibre was an absolute privilege, and Oak-Villa will always stand out as a defining project in my portfolio.
